Enhanced Vehicle, Rifle Pistol Course Curriculum

The CFT Enhanced vehicle rifle pistol course is 12.5% classroom and 87.5% range work. The following topics will be discussed in the classroom and practiced on the range through dry and live fire drills. We will start out training day one in the classroom where we will go over administrative items and course brief. Next we will complete the morning on the range where course assumes a baseline of competence with the pistol and which we will confirm though initial diagnostic testing. Once a common level of skill is confirmed, and any shortfalls addressed through individual remedial instruction, we will begin a progressive enhancement of each officer’s skills. In the afternoon we will begin with individual carbine skills and rapidly move into enhanced carbine and pistol skills. We will complete training day one with a two gun individual skills evaluation. Training day two will start in the classroom where we will discuss cover, concealment and the use of cover. We will then wrap up the class with a ballistics case study on unarmored vehicles. At this point we will conduct dry and live fire exercises with the use of cover and then the use of vehicles. We will shoot from multiple firing positions around the vehicle, and then engage targets from positions inside the vehicle. Everything covered and conducted will be explained in detail and demonstrated by the instructors of CFT.
